How should I choose a moving company?

When choosing your moving company, you should be looking for a company that is offering all information in writing and take the time to answer any and all questions you may have. There should be a willingness from the company to provide clear and honest answers so you are able to assess whether that company is best suited to help you with your move. The cost of the move should not be the main reason behind choosing your company; you want to choose a company with a good price, good rating, great customer service skills and last but not least they should have knowledgeable relocation specialists.

What is an estimate?

AZ Movers uses the initial information provided to us to calculate a general estimation for your move. We do recommend providing as much detail as possible, to allow our relocation's specialists the opportunity to provide a more realistic idea of expected moving costs. We have a variety of options available to collect the proper information to provide accurate quotes for our potential clients.

Why should I hire a professional mover?

Moving is emotionally and physically draining. And while family or friends are willing to help, moving large and bulky items with care takes skill. Our removal teams are highly experienced and will make sure your move is as easy and stress free as possible. Professional movers also come with a 100% Success rate if you’ve got the right one!

How much will my move cost?

All removals vary, your quote is mainly based on the following; Fuel, Labor Costs, Number of Vehicles and VAT. Further it then is based on additional requirements such as dismantling/assembling, packing/unpacking material, and so on. How far in advance should I get my quotation?

We realize predicting when your move will take place is Difficult. You should go ahead and get your quotation when you have a buyer, you’ll feel less stressed out!

You should book your move at least 2-3 weeks before your preferred moving day to ensure that all arrangements can be made and the schedule is more flexible. We can accommodate your moving day at the last minute if needed, as soon as you have determined your moving date, Call or Email Us to book your move to allow your move coordinator to plan out the best possible experience for you.

We keep your details for up to 30 Days unless you ask otherwise, all quotations given will remain the same for up to 2 months.

We accommodate last minute moves however, we appreciate a weeks notice this only applies to hourly and fixed quotes. Our customized quotes have to be booked 2 weeks in advance to be able to accommodate your needs better.

Do I need to empty out my filing cabinets?

All tall cabinets need to be completely emptied. The top two drawers of four-drawer cabinets need to be emptied. However, smaller cabinets can be left full to save more space. What do I need to do to prepare my appliances for the move?

Our movers aren’t trained electricians or plumbers, so we’re happy to disconnect/reconnect standard connections for washing machines etc. but you’ll need to arrange for the relevant professionals to disconnect your gas appliances, lighting/chandeliers or any other appliances of the sort.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all appliances are emptied, cleaned and disconnected before shipping. Some appliances require preparation by a licensed professional before they are shipped to ensure the safety of the items and staff. It is important to remember that appliances or mechanical equipment not serviced by a professional will travel at the owner's risk for internal damage.

Are there any items that you can’t move?

Due to restrictions by the government and concerns for public safety there are restrictions to the transportation of dangerous goods. There are some items that may be included in your move, but under controlled conditions. Either way you must let your relocation specialist and the driver of any item that may be hazardous. Examples of this would be gasoline, propane tanks, extinguishers, ammunition, and some cleaning supplies. We also DO NOT move jewellery or other irreplaceable/valuable items.

What if I have to change my moving date and time?

Please make us aware of the new dates and timings as soon as you can so we can accommodate your removal date better. The quotes will remain the same however it may differentiate for long-distance or part-loads.

What if I have to cancel my removal?

If you’re moving within Edinburgh or 20 miles out width please let us know in advance up to 60% of the quote will be charged as a cancellation fee depending on how many hours/days you cancelled prior to the removal day. Please visit our Terms and Conditionspage for further details.

All cancellations will have an administration charge of £20.00 GBP

Long distance jobs will have a cancellation fee of £100.00 if cancelled in less than 15 days to the removal.

  • (a) 5 days to the removal 10% of the quoted price
  • (b) 2 days to the removal 25% Of the Quoted price
  • (c) 24 hours to the removal 60% of the Quoted price

We have paid parking or a busy road?

If you know the parking situation it is better to arrange for dispensations or suspensions, if in any case a penalty does take place the customer is charged for that cost and a delay in that payment will result in a further fine.

Is this a door to door service?

This is better than door to door, we offer a room to room service with all moves. At the time of pickup the men will go from room to room and remove the items. At the delivery the moving team will happily place your items into the rooms that you request.

Can I pay cash on the day?

Yes, you can pay the driver cash on delivery; once the delivery has been made prior to offloading only. You will receive an invoice/receipt if requested.

Can I pay by Cheque?

We do not accept Cheques and IF in any case you do decide to pay a check please let us know prior to sending it as we will arrange for collection.

Can I pay using a debit/credit card?

We accept Debit/Credit card Payments, However in advance only and transaction charges will be paid by the customer. If arrangements are not made 24 hours prior to removal cash before offloading is the default method.

Can I pay directly into your bank account?3

Yes, you are welcome to pay via bank transfer however, please discuss this will your relocation specialist before booking the removal.

Do you provide your removals services over the weekend?

Yes, we can accommodate removals on the weekends but let us know in advance if you’re booking in on a Friday since that’s the busiest day of the week.

There has been a delay with my keys, will I be charged extra?

When we provide quotations it is expected that you have thought the timings through for the key exchange, failing to do so or if it was caused due to a 3rd party you may contact your solicitors. However we will charge any overtime or waiting time unless mentioned otherwise. If it causes disruptions with schedule and it will be charged at £50.00 per starting hour. We will start the charge 15 minutes into the hours and no more than that. Please Read our Terms and Conditions for a more comprehensive answer.

Do you Insure goods in transit?

Yes, we do insure goods in transit please contact your move coordinator and they will provide you a valued inventory sheet to fill out for formality.

Do you provide material?

Yes, we provide all sizes and types of boxes as well as material; you can even see our Packing Packages page for discounted offers. You can further even rent the boxes for a onetime fee however wardrobe boxes are always available for an easy removal.

Can I go with the van drivers in the van?

Yes, But at your own risk since we are not insured to carry passengers and if there is space. Pease discuss this before the removal as circumstances may Vary in different cases.
